About Us

We are a non-profit working towards reducing our community's trash output. We do this through fun, and interesting workshops. Eventually, we hope to open a Makerspace in the Montgomery, PA area where we will help our community learn how to create new things out of old materials. In the meantime, we continue to work towards helping our community find happiness in pursuing their hobbies and reducing our landfill waste in the process.

Maker Mindset's mission is to help promote sustainable living through psychology and education. Learning about our behavior is half the battle to change our mindset about how we address Global Warming in our day to day life.

What Do You Do?

We help learners find their inner builders, doer, and maker. Our goal is to send you home with a mindset of reusing materials that already exist in our world. That means we want to build a community where you know someone that can repair, mend, and build your necessities in life.

Workshops We Currently Offer:

  • Design Thinking

  • 3D Printing (Tinkercad Design) / Our Relationship with Plastic

  • Sustainable Living 101

  • Food Scrap Composting

  • Mending Clothing

Organizations we are connected with:

Precious Plastics - The project was started in 2013 by Dave Hakkens and is now in its fourth iteration. The community provides people with creative ways to reuse plastics. It relies on a series of machines and tools which grind, melt, and inject recycled plastic, allowing for the creation of new products out of recycled plastic on a small scale.
